Author(s):

The ClimateRISE Alliance partners—the Coexistence Consortium, The Corbett Foundation, Aaranyak, and Dasra (ClimateRISE Alliance secretariat), organised a media roundtable in Guwahati- "From Confllict to Coexistence, Media's Role in Shaping Public Perception on Human Wildlife Interactions. The event brought together conservation experts and journalists from almost 20 national and regional publications including Assam Tribune, Assam Post and Dainik Batori to discuss the role of media in addressing human-wildlife interactions (HWI).

The roundtable provided a forum for media professionals to speak with experts directly and get guidance on how to report human wildlife interactions holistically. Discussions centred around the need for balanced, ethical reporting that addresses root causes like habitat loss, deforestation, and infrastructure disruption, while also promoting better community engagement and responsible media practices.
